Rayan Abdi
Cellular Security Researcher
I’m Rayan Abdi (Ryan in everyday life, Rayan courtesy of passport bureaucracy), an electrical and telecommunications researcher focused on cellular and mobile network security. I hold an M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), where I was advised by Dr. Nader Mokari, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
My research centers on cellular system security, wireless protocol analysis, and threat detection. I am broadly interested in air-interface security, Software-Defined Radio (SDR), and machine learning applications for wireless communication networks.
Areas of Focus
- Cellular & 5G Security — Mobile network architectures and threat mitigation
- Protocol Analysis — Air interface vulnerabilities and control-plane security
- Software-Defined Radio (SDR) — Testbed prototyping and signal analysis
- Applied Machine Learning — Automated anomaly detection in wireless networks
Education
- M.Sc. in Telecommunications, Tarbiat Modares University
